Join the 2026 Video-based Seizure Detection Challenge!
In partnership with the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders, the Section on Computational Neurology at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin invites you to take part in the Video-based Seizure Detection Challenge.
Your task: develop an AI model that can detect epileptic spasms from short, anonymized video clips of infants. Using pose estimation data (skeletal key points), participants will build algorithms to classify 5-second video segments as containing a seizure or not.
This challenge aims to advance early, accessible, and reliable diagnosis of Infantile Epileptic Spasm Syndrome (IESS) - a condition where delayed detection can have serious developmental consequences.
Prizes: 1st place $7,000
Runner-up $3,000
DEADLINE: February 23, 2026
Join the competition HERE and help shape the future of AI-assisted epilepsy diagnosis.
Please note that at least one team member must be registered for in-person attendance for the conference. Multiple entries from the same team are discouraged.
